Position Summary:
The Surgery registration coordinator is responsible for providing outstanding customer service, ensuring a smooth, orderly flow of every patient throughout their surgery encounter. The surgery coordinator is to complete health insurance and financial clearance activities prior to the patients arrival to the facility to expedite and enhance the patient experience. The Surgery Registration Coordinator's functions are to pre-register patients for their surgical procedures by verifying eligibility/benefits, pre-certification, and financial clearance including pre-visit collection. The Surgery Registration Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring the most accurate patient data through their attention to detail and knowledge of insurance carriers, Medicare guidelines as well as state and accredited agencies.
Reports to: Centralized Scheduling Manager
FLSA: Non-exempt
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
3 years pre authorization, billing\collection, or registration experience required.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information required.
Prior knowledge of payer policies and authorization requirements required
