Maintenance Supervisor
Position Summary
Havasu Riviera Marina is seeking a maintenance Supervisor. This position is responsible for supervising the maintenance and groundskeeper positions and the daily maintenance of the marina including, but is not limited to, hands on service duties for all indoor and outdoor facilities including structures, docks, roadways, landscaping, signage, and boat inspections. This position reports to the Marina Operations Manager.
General duties
- Build a team that is focused on ensuring our facility is prepared and maintained to provide a great guest experience.
- Delegate and follow up on tasks within the Maintenance and Groundskeeper team.
- Coach, Train and Develop new employees and staff to ensure they are trained and capable of meeting job expectations.
- Partner with the Marina Operations Manager on any employees that are failing to meet the job expectations and/or other job-related concerns.
- Perform all services and marina duties on a regular schedule, including but not limited to repairs and upgrades to facilities, boat inspections (registration, insurance, sanitary discharge, AIS decontamination), tying up of boats, assisting Marina Management as needed, and customer service.
- Oversee and assist dock & finger maintenance throughout the marina.
- Plan and oversee daily opening and closing procedures including daily restroom checks, C-store checks, inventory of tools/supplies, and cleaning.
- Assist in preventative maintenance programs including all equipment, heating and air conditioning units, ice machines, fire extinguishers/smoke alarms, plumbing, golf carts, etc.
- Maintain a work order assignment program for completed and pending work orders. Prioritize and complete work orders in a timely manner. Monitor all deficiencies.
- Maintain the marina facilities daily i.e. restrooms, parking lot, fuel pumps, etc.
- Assist as a parking attendant as needed. Maintain proper parking lot organization and security.
- Report any injuries to marina management & security.
- Must have an understanding of carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and general repair and maintenance duties.
- You must be comfortable working in both indoor and outdoor environments with frequent exposure to extreme heat, wind, and cold.
- This position requires you to work weekends, holidays and all major marina events as needed.

- Notify management of guest complaints at the time they occur. Practice effective service recovery by rectifying any complaints as soon as possible.
- Because of the fluctuating demands of the company’s operation, it may be necessary that each Employee Partner perform a multitude of different functions therefore, as an essential part of your position, you will be expected to help others when occasions arise.
- Adhere to all company, marina, and written mandatory standards of operations, policies and procedures, manuals, memos, oral instructions, etc.
- Wear a clean and neat uniform daily that follows Havasu Riviera Marina Dress Code policy.
- Maintain the reputation of the marina and common areas as a clean and welcoming facility.
- Must be comfortable using both Microsoft Office applications, basic office equipment, and web-based applications via computer, tablet, and phone as needed.
- Ability to interact positively with supervisors, management, co-workers, guests, owners, and public with skills to provide excellent customer service.
- Ability to produce work in a timely manner which is accurate, complete and of high quality.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
Job Type: Full-time
- Starting wage will depend on experience with annual review for increases based on performance.
- Paid vacation days available after 6 months of employment for FT
- Sick pay as required by Arizona State Law.
Physical requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is required to stand, walk, sit, stoop, kneel or crouch. Ability to work outdoors withstanding temperature extremes and inclement weather; ability to climb, stoop and bend 50% of the time; also requires manual dexterity to operate equipment. Lift, carry, and reach/extend arms and hands above shoulder height frequently, or otherwise moves in a constantly changing environment. Lifting, carrying, and pushing up to 75 lbs. regularly.
Schedule
The nature of our business at the Havasu Riviera Marina requires all employees to work weekends. All applicants need to expect to work all summer holidays and Marina events.
- Federal and state working hours and vacation allowances will be respected, as a minimum.
- To be mutually agreed, but in line with recreational boating and hospitality employment practices, will include:
- Shift work
- Weekend working
- Seasonal working
- Major Marina Events
- Unsociable hours
Education and Experience
- Minimum of High School education, post-high school education preferred.
- Previous construction work experience preferred.
- Minimum of two years of general maintenance and repair experience required.
- Proven track record of performing at the highest level of ethical work standards.
- Minimum of two years’ experience running heavy equipment such as front-end loader, forklift, backhoe, skid-steer, etc.
- Pervious work experience in a marina environment preferred but not required.
- CPR/First Aide Certification preferred.
