Reports to: Vice President of Construction Operations / Project Manager

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and organized Field Coordinator to join our team. The Field Coordinator / Project Assistant will provide crucial support to the Vice President and project management team in coordinating and overseeing construction projects from inception to completion. This position involves a blend of office-based administrative tasks and on-site field coordination to ensure the smooth execution of projects, meeting deadlines, budgets, and safety standards. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring smooth operations by coordinating various activities and providing exceptional customer service. This position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently

Key Responsibilities

  • Field Coordination:
  • Assist in managing day-to-day operations at project sites, ensuring efficient workflow and timely completion of tasks.
  • Liaise with contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and on-site personnel to ensure project requirements are met.
  • Monitor construction progress and report back to the Vice President and Project Managers, addressing issues as they arise.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies on job sites.
  • Conduct site visits to verify the quality of work, track milestones, and identify potential problems.
  • Project Administration:
  • Assist with scheduling project timelines, coordinating deliveries, and tracking project milestones.
  • Maintain and organize project documentation, including contracts, change orders, permits, and daily logs.
  • Communicate regularly with the Vice President and other senior management to provide updates on project status and any potential risks.
  • Track budgets, labor hours, materials, and other resources to help ensure projects stay on track financially.
  • Coordination & Communication:
  • Serve as a liaison between the field team and office, facilitating communication and ensuring all parties are informed of project developments.
  • Provide administrative support for project meetings, including scheduling, preparing agendas, and taking minutes when required.
  • Help coordinate and support subcontractors and vendors to ensure timely and accurate execution of work.
  • Problem-Solving & Reporting:
  • Identify and escalate any concerns regarding project timelines, resources, or safety issues to the Vice President and project management team.
  • Offer solutions to on-site challenges while maintaining productivity and adhering to company standards.
  • Prepare and submit regular progress reports and daily logs to ensure proper documentation of all activities.

Qualifications:

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent (required); a degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field is a plus.

Experience:

  • At least 1 year of experience in construction coordination, project management, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with construction processes, safety regulations, and industry standards.
  • Previous experience working in the field is preferred but not required.

Skills:

  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and construction management software (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend, etc.).
  • Ability to read and understand construction plans, blueprints, and project specifications.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure

Other:

  • Ability to travel to project sites as required.
  • Must be able to work in a physically demanding environment and manage field tasks as needed.
  • Bilingual proficiency is preferred to facilitate communication with diverse clients.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand or walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions (outdoors).

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekends as needed (rare)
  • 8 hour shift

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.50 - $28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.00 per week
