Quality Contol Technician
POSITION TITLE: Quality Technician POSITION LOCATION: Vonore, TN
POSITION REPORTS TO: QC Team Leader POSITION SUPERVISES: Assigned area
POSITION SUMMARY
Quality Technician employees are considered floor level leaders and are assigned to specific areas of operation. They are required to oversee and assist all other employees assigned to that area regarding safety, quality, operations and continuous improvement.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Safety
- Must follow and help enforce all rules and regulations pertaining to OSHA and HAVCO safety rules/regulations.
- Must identify and aid in the corrections of any safety hazards.
- Immediately notifies the Supervisor of any safety issues or concerns.
- Must be able to move material safely using proper lifting techniques.
- Identify and aid in the corrections of any unsafe behavior through co-worker awareness.
Quality
- Must know and understand all customer’s requirements in their assigned area pertaining to quality and customer satisfaction.
- Must be able to meet customer’s requirements on any testing required of their area.
- Identify and aid in the corrections of any quality issues.
- Immediately notifies the Supervisor of any quality issues or concerns.
- Must perform required quality inspections in their assigned area.
- Must be able to use instruments such as micrometers, tape measures, go/no-go gauges, etc. to ensure quality specifications are met.
Operation
- Stop production of material when quality issues are identified and notifies the Supervisor.
- Stop equipment when it is identified to be unsafe to run.
- Must be able to work any required overtime, including weekends.
- The employee is required to maintain regular, reliable and predictable attendance and punctuality.
Continuous Improvement
- Must be willing to participate on and understand Root Cause Analyses (RCA) practices.
- Must have an understanding of Continuous Improvement (CI) Structure.
- Must be willing to participate on AD-HOC teams to eradicate or minimize issues/losses.
- Must be willing to participate on Continuous Improvement (CI) Teams/Pillars.
EDUCATION: Must possess a high school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED).
WORK EXPERIENCE: 1 year of Operating and Manufacturing experience preferred but not required. Must be able to meet required expectations on QA skills testing.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Must be able to work in hot environments.
- Must be able to stand 8 – 12 hours/day.
- Must be able to bend, twist, turn, and lift 10-50 lbs. routinely.
