Utility Clean-Up Level 1
POSITION TITLE: Utility Clean-up Level 1 POSITION LOCATION: Vonore, TN
POSITION REPORTS TO: Glue Line Team Leader POSITION SUPERVISES: N/A
POSITION SUMMARY:
Utility clean-up employees are assigned to the Glue Line area of operation and are required to assist in all activities regarding safety, quality, operations, maintenance and continuous improvement. They are required to follow Havco Vonore’s mission statement, values and instructions of Management.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Safety
- Must follow all OSHA and HAVCO safety rules/regulations.
- Help to enforce all rules and regulations pertaining to safety.
- Identify and aid in the corrections of any safety hazards notify the immediate Supervisor with any safety issues or concerns
- Must be able to move material safely using proper lifting techniques.
- Identify and aid in the corrections of any unsafe behavior through co-worker awareness.
Quality
- Must know and understand all customer’s requirements in their assigned area pertaining to quality and customer satisfaction.
- Must be able to meet internal and external customer’s requirements on any critical to quality (CTQ) testing required of their area.
- Identify and aid in the corrections of any quality issues, notify the immediate Supervisor with any quality issues or concerns
- Must perform standardized quality inspections in their assigned area.
Operation
- Must be able to maintain a constant and consistent flow of material through the process, while adjusting machinery if necessary to facilitate an efficient flow of material.
- Must stop production of material when quality issues are identified.
- Must stop equipment when it is identified to be unsafe to run.
- Must be able to work any required overtime, including weekends
- Must be flexible to work in several different areas.
- Must be capable of training and acting as back-up operators preferred.
- The employee is required to maintain regular, reliable and predictable attendance and punctuality.
Maintenance
- Must be able to possess, exercise, and maintain good communication skills with the Maintenance staff team to ensure all machinery is in good working conditions at all times.
- Must perform daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance activities including, but not limited to Preventative Maintenance (PM), replacements of components.
- Must be able to troubleshoot equipment defects.
- Must fill out required maintenance documents to include, but not limited to Preventative Maintenance (PM) sheets and work orders.
- Must be able to learn and follow the Operator Bases Maintenance (OBM).
- Participate on Operator Bases Maintenance (OBM) Teams.
Continuous Improvement
- Must be willing to participate on and understand Root Cause Analyses (RCA) practices.
- Must have an understanding of Continuous Improvement (CI) Structure.
- Must willing to participate on AD-HOC teams to eradicate or minimize issues/losses.
- Must be willing to participate on Continuous Improvement (CI) Teams.
EDUCATION: Must possess a high school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED).
WORK EXPERIENCE: 1 year of Operating and Manufacturing experience preferred but not required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Must be able to work in hot environments.
- Must be able to stand on your feet 8 – 12 hours/day.
- Must be able to bend, twist, turn, and lift 10-50 lbs. routinely.
- Must possess the ability to work at a fast pace consistently.
- Must possess the ability to work at a fast, safe pace consistently.
