Position: Hearing Impaired Teacher
Reports to: EC Director and/or Principal
Terms of Employment: 10 months

To plan, instruct, and organize instructional environments which help students learn subject matter and skills that will contribute to their educational and social development.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Teacher is required to follow all Board Policies and procedures, and to comply with the instructions and/or directives from his/her supervisor(s). In addition, the Teacher shall perform in a manner that meets the following Standards and Elements.

- familiar with hearing impaired equipment (FM system, Hearing Aids, Cochlear Implant) and troubleshooting
- familiar with language based learning as it relates to HI students
- familiar with language based assessments for HI students
- teachers align their instruction with the NC Course of study
- develops and applies strategies to make the curriculum rigorous and relevant
- develops literacy and math skills appropriate to specialty area
- knows subject beyond the content they teach
