Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated Inside Sales & Business Development Representative to drive sales growth and manage retail accounts. This full-time in-office position is ideal for a results-driven sales professional with experience in building materials or retail sales. We have a new product suite designed for the trade - professional installers, builders and big box retail. We are seeking an industry veteran who can drive immediate change in adoption of our new products. You will play a key role in expanding our presence in Lowe's, Home Depot, and various retailers, building strong relationships with buyers, and ensuring our products are well-positioned for success. The role also involves day-to-day tasks such as service, sales, and account management to drive business growth and foster strong customer relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Generation & Outreach: Proactively prospect, identify, and qualify new sales leads through cold calling, email outreach, social media, and other channels. Drive business development activities to create new opportunities and set up meetings with potential customers.
- Account Management & Sales Growth: Develop and maintain strong relationships with retail buyers and store managers at Lowe’s, Home Depot, and other retail partners. Increase product placements and sales by effectively pitching new products to both existing and potential accounts.
- Sales Closing: Manage the sales cycle from lead generation through closing deals, ensuring a seamless transition from prospecting to finalized sales.
- Customer Support: Provide product information, pricing, and order support to retailers and customers, ensuring all inquiries are handled promptly.
- Order Processing: Coordinate with internal teams to manage sales orders, ensuring timely delivery and smooth transactions.
- Market Insights: Stay informed on industry trends, competitor activity, and customer feedback, using this information to optimize sales strategies and improve product offerings.
- Collaboration: Work closely with marketing, logistics, and product development teams to optimize customer experience and sales performance. Provide regular sales reports and forecasts, offering insights and recommendations to upper management.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience (5 years) in business development, inside sales, or retail sales, particularly in building materials or a related field.
- Strong proficiency prospecting, qualifying leads, and closing deals. A solid track record of sales success, particularly in working with large retailers like Lowe’s, Home Depot, or similar.
- Ability to build lasting relationships with retail buyers, store managers, and internal teams.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively negotiate and present to diverse stakeholders.
- Highly organized with the ability to multi-task and manage multiple accounts effectively.
- Comfortable using CRM software and data analysis tools to track leads, sales, and performance metrics.
- Ability to travel as required to meet clients and attend industry events.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
- A passion for sustainable building materials and eco-friendly practices is a plus.
