Job Overview: As the Director of First Impressions (DOFI), you will be the face of the studio and play a key role in shaping the experience for every person who walks through our doors. You will ensure that our studio culture is reflected in every interaction, and you will be responsible for managing day-to-day operations, supporting staff, and fostering strong relationships with our students and their families.

Key Responsibilities:

Client Relations & Community Building:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for new and existing students and their families.
  • Build relationships and ensure a welcoming atmosphere for all visitors.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and make every interaction a positive experience.

Studio Operations & Front Desk Management:

  • Greet and assist clients, answer questions, trials, and give studio tours.
  • Ensure the front desk is stocked with current flyers, studio information, and materials.
  • Manage student registration and keep accurate records.
  • Handle daily check-ins for trial students and follow up with trial families, including sending registration links.
  • Ensure the studio is organized, including the lobby, supplies, and lost & found items.
  • Lead Management and Follow Up.

Communication & Administrative Tasks:

  • Respond to all studio emails and inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate with the studio team, including supervising staff attendance and handling front desk tasks.
  • Maintain knowledge of the studio calendar and upcoming events.
  • Assist in creating and scheduling social media content for the studio.

Event Coordination & Special Projects:

  • Assist with private lesson scheduling, birthday party bookings, and other events.
  • Help with costume unboxing, labeling, and distribution during Nutcracker and Recital seasons.
  • Contribute to student engagement and retention programs, including Student of the Month and Class Technique Cards, Parent’s Night Out, etc.
  • Follow up with families regarding student absences and maintain communication.
  • Assist studio owners in specific projects.
  • Staff Management for attendance reporting and deadlines.

Key Priorities:

  • Build a strong rapport with students and parents by remembering names and fostering relationships.
  • Prioritize face-to-face communication to build trust and rapport.
  • Ensure every person who enters the studio feels welcome and valued.
  • Manage the Student of the Month program and ensure timely follow-up with families.
  • Oversee the enrollment process for new students and assist with any last-minute changes, such as substitute teachers.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask and maintain professionalism in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and basic design software (Canva) for creating flyers.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Previous experience in customer service or administrative roles preferred.
  • Passion for dance and supporting a positive, family-oriented community.
  • Basic knowledge of dance is required.

Key Metrics for Success:

  • Ensure happy students and parents, as evidenced by positive feedback through surveys.
  • Maintain a high level of student retention (87% year-over-year).
  • Drive positive online reviews (95% of families leave positive feedback on Google, Yelp, Facebook, etc.).
  • Respond to all communication (Slack, Band, etc.) within 24 hours.
  • Fulfill all recital and costume duties promptly.

Hours (may vary):

  • 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM (M, W, TH, F)
  • 2:30 PM – 8:00 PM (M-F)
  • 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM (S)
  • Potential for occasional weekend shifts on a rotating schedule.

Expected hours: 15 – 30 per week

  • 4 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekends as needed
