We are seeking a Certified Peer Support Specialist to join our team. Our Team is dedicated to delivering our clients the most comprehensive, beneficial substance abuse and mental health services available. Our goal is to provide our clients with the best opportunity for long term sobriety.
Schedule:
Wednesday to Sunday 12p-8p
Details/Qualifications:
1. Provides peer support and self-help services to participants as appropriate, including engagement, assisting in development of self-advocacy, communication, and empowerment skills.
2. Develops effective working relationships with agencies, organizations, and community members to respond and advocate for individuals and families from a peer perspective.
3. Attends and participates in supervision and multidisciplinary meetings.
4. Assist clients in attaining community services, including but not limited to: food stamps, bus passes, AA/NA groups, sponsor, etc.
5. Assists program staff to implement day to day program activities.
6. Complete various assessments, treatment plans, reviews, and progress notes in a timely manner.
7. Enforce any specific directions given of the treatment team regarding clients.
8. Maintain complete confidentiality on behalf of the clients.
9. Monitor behaviors and report all occurrences to management which defer from the normal behaviors.
10. Assist with ensuring that clients are present and remain in all scheduled groups and/or activities.
11. Maintain project logs, reports and records in appropriate files and databases.
12. Assist clients in developing empowerment skills and combating stigma through self-advocacy. This will be accomplished through regular meetings, individual or group sessions. Through the use of role playing/modeling techniques the Certified Peer Specialist provides opportunities for others to show/demonstrate how they have handled similar problems, how to present themselves in certain situations, or how to handle problems that may arise in interactions with others.
13. Any other duties as instructed by management.
14. Acquire and maintain all CEU, CPR, trainings, etc. as required by JCAHO.
Requirements:
· Knowledge of chemical dependency and behaviors associated with withdrawals and the recovery process.
· Demonstrates proficiency in communication & written skills.
· Knowledge of State & Federal Statutes regarding Client Confidentiality Laws.
. Must have certification as a Peer Recovery Specialist.
· Valid Arkansas Drivers License
· A minimum of 1 year in the related field
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
