What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accountant position at Haven Group CPAs and Advisors?
Job Responsibilities:
- Prepare and examine financial records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations.
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements.
- Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
- Prepare Payroll tax filings and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws.
- Collaborate with our other offices to ensure optimal client service.
- Oversee and process payroll for our clients.
- Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with wage laws and regulations.
- Address payroll discrepancies and resolve issues efficiently.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. (Preferred but not required)
- CPA or EA certification (preferred but not required).
- Minimum of 3 years of accounting and/or payroll experience.
- Proficiency in accounting, tax & payroll software (e.g., QuickBooks, Accounting CS, UltraTax CS, Payroll CS, Surepayroll, etc.)
- Experience with payroll processing and compliance.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Adaptablitity to change and learn new programs/skills.

Pay: $20.00 - $35.00 per hour
