Job Overview:
Haven Home Care is seeking compassionate and dedicated Direct Care Workers to join our team. As a Direct Care Worker, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care and support to individuals in need, enabling them to lead fulfilling lives in the comfort of their homes.
We are seeking applicants to care for our clients in New Castle and Kent Counties, Delaware.
Responsibilities:
- Personal Care: Assisting clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and feeding.
- Medication Reminder: Reminding clients to take their medications as prescribed.
- Mobility Assistance: Assisting clients with mobility, transfers, and ambulation.
- Companionship: Providing emotional support, engaging in conversation, and participating in recreational activities with clients.
- Light Housekeeping: Performing light housekeeping tasks such as tidying up, laundry, and meal preparation.
- Medical Appointments: Accompanying clients to medical appointments, assisting clients with transportation to and from appointments, providing support and assistance during the appointment.
- Errands and Shopping: Assisting clients with grocery shopping, running errands on behalf of clients.
- Respite Care: Providing temporary relief to primary caregivers, monitoring and ensuring client safety and well-being.
- Record-Keeping: Maintaining accurate records of services provided, changes in client condition, and reporting any concerns to supervisors or healthcare professionals.
- Communication: Communicating effectively with clients and their families to ensure coordinated care.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- One (1) year work experience or more is preferred.
- Must have a criminal background check and drug screening.
- Must have current physical report and TB Screening
- Successfully complete orientation program and pass a competency test
Compensation:
- $15-$16 per hour
