We are currently seeking a highly skilled, professional Compliance Officer at Haven Human Services, Inc. to ensure that, at every level, our operations and business transactions are in keeping with all relevant legal and internal rules.
As a critical member of the organization's governance structure, the candidate is expected to prevent improper conduct of vendors, employees and partners by developing, implementing and enforcing policies. You will work with the IT department and other departments to proactively reduce compliance risks and ensure that our organization adheres to ethical standards, laws, and industry regulations.

Core Functions:
- Developing, implementing and enforcing procedures and policies to ensure the organization's compliance with industry and government regulations
- Consistent risk assessments to recognize areas where the company might be vulnerable to non-compliance
- Working with other departments in the company to ensure compliance of all departments
- Form critical plans to manage crisis events or compliance violations, should they ever occur
- Keep ahead of the curve in auditing of processes, practices, and documents to identify weaknesses before they become problems
- Create reliable internal controls and monitor adherence to those objectives
- Draft and revise company policies
- Collaborate with outside professionals, including external auditors, and HR as needed
- Regularly reviewthe compliance program and recommendappropriate revisions and modifications, including advising administrative leadership and the board of directors of potential compliance risk areas
- Provideinput and/or direction to human resources policies and procedures, and the performance appraisal and incentive programs, to ensure that improper conduct is discouraged and that support of any conformity with the compliance program is part ofthe performance evaluationprocess for all employees
- Develop educational programs for all employees, agents, contractors, or others working with the organization
- Work with the Human Resources Director to formalize and monitor a system to enable employees to report any noncompliance without fear of retribution, to ensurethat the reporting system is adequately publicized and that allegations of noncompliance are investigated and responded to promptly
- Must have a bachelor's degree in finance, law, business administration or a related field
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to adapt to changing regulatory environments and requirements
- Excellent communication and analytical skills
- Willingness to work in a team and independently
- Demonstrable experience in compliance and risk management
- Strong working knowledge of industry legal requirements, regulations,and controls
- Familiarity with developing and executing compliance management techniques
- Experience in conducting audits and investigations and providing relevant strategies
- Must be 18 years old and above
- Must hold valid driver's license
- Must be willing to complete fingerprinting, drug testing, and background checks
- Must be willing to complete necessary trainings and certifications
- Previous experience in healthcare field, or experience with relevant healthcare laws and regulations is strongly preferred
- Relevant professional certifications like Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC),Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP)or Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM) is preferred
- Auditing/CPA experience is a plus
