What are the responsibilities and job description for the Animal Regulation Officer position at Haven Humane Society?
Investigation of animal cruelty or neglect; issuing citations for violations; preparing cases for court; impounding animals; humanely handling sick, injured, or dangerous animals; euthanize animals in an emergency situation; remove dead animals, patrol assigned areas and promote humane, caring attitude through education and example; maintain a professional appearance and courteous and tactful approach with the public; maintain a good working relationship with other law enforcement agencies.
Work is performed in the field in all weather conditions, driving a vehicle from location to location with minimal supervision. Requires handling animals and direct interaction with the public. Requires working a rotating 10-hour shift including evenings, weekends and holidays.
REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma, auto insurance, and clean, valid California driver’s license. After hire, must complete PC832 and Humane Academy, and acquire certificate in administration of euthanasia.
