Job Summary
Counselor for Residential Therapeutic Program serving Adolescent Youth, ages 12-17. Join a supportive, therapeutic team and excellent working environment. We offer flexible schedules and currently have the following opportunities available: Part-Time Counselor, 2-3 shifts/week with paid vacation/401K package. This position has the opportunity to go to Full Time in 1-2 months. Full time employees are eligible for our benefits package (medical/dental/vision/chiro). **Available shifts include mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends or awake overnight shifts**
Responsibilities and Duties
As a counselor, you will be responsible for overseeing the milieu and maintaining program structure by working closely with both the therapeutic team and residents. Duties include: planning and implementing recreational, vocational, and community activities, providing crisis intervention, teaching independent living skills, and supervision and participation of daily activities. About Us: We strive to provide a safe, structured, nurturing environment for adolescents who have been abandoned, abused or neglected. We currently operate two residential therapeutic programs in Santa Cruz County for youth who are in need of specialized support services and transitional housing to former foster youth, ages, 18-21. Our goal is to prepare the adolescents in our care to meet the challenges of life as independent, confident, self-sufficient adults. This is carried out through creative programs designed to enhance self-esteem, communication, relationships, and goal setting, which we believe to be life long skills for success. Our services are also tailored to meet each youth's ultimate goal of maintaining a stable permanent family. Qualifications and Skills
