- Starting pay is based off of experience and skill, with potential for earned periodic increases.

This position at HAVEN of Tioga County will be responsible for scheduling, preparing, and presenting prevention education programming to school groups and children/youth groups, scheduling, preparing, and attending local community fairs, provide direct services to survivors of abuse through supportive counseling, client accompaniments, crisis intervention, and program affiliations.
The Core Duties and Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:
Direct Service:
- Options and empowerment counseling to victims of Domestic Violence and/or Sexual Assault
- Legal and/or medical accompaniment per client’s request
- Individual advocacy within systems, law enforcement, etc.
- On-call and hotline coverage as assigned
Prevention Education:
- Overseeing all aspects of prevention education programming to school groups, youth groups, etc.
- Schedule, prepare, and attend local community tabling events
- Develop and implement updated domestic violence and sexual assault primary prevention programs, education programs geared toward youth and children's groups.
- Coordination of volunteer participation, including recruitment, training, supervision, and scheduling
Because of rotating on-call responsibilities successful candidates must live in Tioga County, PA or within a 45 minute drive to Wellsboro. A Bachelor's degree is generally required, though applicable experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. A degree or coursework in Social Work, Education, Communication or a related field is preferred. Prior experience working in a human services organization is strongly preferred
Minimum Requirements:
- Promote, support, and abide by HAVEN’s Mission to serve and empower those impacted by domestic violence and sexual assault.
- Bachelor’s Degree in psychology, education, social work, communication or relevant field
- Be a strong communicator and presenter
- Must enjoy talking to people and be comfortable engaging the community
- Must be willing to work evenings and weekends when necessary to provide community programming
- Must be able to think critically and creatively, be self-directed, and have excellent organizational and time management skills
- Able to work independently and in groups
- Commitment to social justice as demonstrated by history of activism and advocacy
- Proficiency in computer related usage and data entry
- Must reside within Tioga County, PA or live within 45 minute response time to Wellsboro.
- Must have a valid PA driver’s license and current auto insurance
- Have or be able to complete 40 hour Domestic Violence and 40 hour Sexual Assault training with in 60 days of hire
- Must complete 8 hours of on-going training related to domestic violence topics and 8 hours of on-going training related to sexual assault topics each year.
- FBI, Criminal Background check, and Child Abuse Clearances required.
