12:00 pm – 2:15 pm
Salary:
$40.00/hr – DESE Certified
$30.00/hr – Bachelor’s Degree
$25.00/hr – Associate’s Degree
Organizational Relationship or Line of Authority:
Directly responsible to the Principal. Jointly responsible to appropriate Curriculum Supervisor.
Description:
Provide Early College First Year Seminar students (10th grade) instructional support with a focus on writing skills. Regular collaboration with Haverhill High Early College staff. This part-time position runs through June.
Statement of Duties:
- Provides group instruction.
- Participates in co-planning sessions.
- Works with other support specialists to collect and/or disseminate student assessment information.
- Responsible for instructional and general duties as indicated by the Curriculum Supervisors, and directives of the Superintendent of Schools or his/her designee, and policies of the Haverhill School Committee.
Qualifications:
- Licensed by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education recommended.
- Knowledge of high school philosophy, organization, and curriculum.
- Understanding of the high school student and his/her early adolescent needs.
- Knowledge of recommended high school instructional practices.
- Experience working with Early College program preferred.
- Ability to develop college readiness skills through engaging lessons and activities specific to writing and public speaking.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Bilingual preferred.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent of Schools may find appropriate and acceptable.
