Summer Program: ESY Special Education - Moody
Dates/Hours:
8:15 am - 11:45 am (3.5 Hours)
Subject to change based on student enrollment; start and stop times
Organizational Relationship
or Line of Authority:
Directly responsible to the Summer ESY Coordinator and/or the Executive Director of Student Support Services and/or his/her designee
Statement of Duties:
- Assists daily in the teaching process and works directly with children under the direction and supervision of the classroom teacher to provide in-class support.
- Assists in implementing the treatment plans for various students in order to create a successful learning experience.
- Responsible for addressing student behavior and encouraging effort in the classroom.
- Assist in planning and preparing the learning environment, setting up classroom areas, and preparing materials and supplies.
- Assist in maintaining a neat and orderly classroom.
- Work as a member of a coordinated program team with other teachers and educational support personnel.
- Responsible for other general duties as indicated by the teacher, principal, supervisors/directors, directives of the Superintendent of Schools or his/her designee, and policies of the Haverhill School Committee.
Qualifications:
- Passing Score on the Para Pro Test or other state approved assessment program or completion of 360 Professional Training Points or 48 credits
- Prefer prior experience with children in a school or similar setting.
- Bilingual Preferred
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent of Schools may find appropriate and acceptable.
