Dates/Hours:
June 30th - July 24th
Monday - Thursay
8:15 am – 11:45 pm
Subject to change based on student enrollment; start and stop times
Salary: School year rate for current IST employees; $25.00/hr for non-IST employees
Organizational Relationship
or Line of Authority:
Directly responsible to the Summer Coordinator and/or the Building Principal and/or his/her designee.
Summary:
Provides support for students within the building that may or may not be in specialized education program.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately completes all required documentation and data collection as needed.
- Works with an individual student or group to reinforce learning of material or skills as described in the IEP/treatment plan.
- Assists the teacher in devising special strategies for reinforcing material or skills based on an understanding of the individual student, his/her needs, interests, and abilities.
- Assists the student throughout the school environment as necessary.
- Alerts the regular teacher to any problem or special information about the individual student.
- Maintains the same high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about the student as is expected of fully licensed teachers.
- Responsible for other general duties as indicated by the Executive Director of Student Support Services, Superintendent/Building Principal or his/her designee, and policies of the Haverhill School Committee
Qualifications Requirements:

- Sixty semester hours of postsecondary work or; an Associate degree.
- Safety Care Training Required.
- Bilingual Preferred.
- Ability to develop effective working relationships with students, staff and the school community.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements.
