Salary: Range - $53,753 (Bachelor Step 1) - $102,987 (Masters 60 Step 14)

Organizational Relationship
or Line of Authority: Directly responsible to the building Principal in all procedural matters pertaining to the building. Jointly responsible to the building Principal and ELA Supervisor.
Statement of Duties: Serves as liaison between the ELA Supervisor,
Literacy Coach and the classroom teacher.
Consults with classroom teachers on grouping, testing, student placement, and instructional strategies.
Identifies and selects children based on available test data, reading level, and teacher input.
Support teachers by providing resources and ideas about
assessment and instruction
Assists with progress monitoring for students in need of
Interventions
Identify reading deficiencies and prescribes a plan for remediation.
Works with students on Tier I, Tier II and Tier III
interventions. (Reading Groups)
Administers, scores, and records results of pre-post standardized tests.
Aligns remedial instruction with the classroom reading program and integrated services where possible.
Participates in kindergarten screening, team evaluations
and the testing of new students as directed.
Assesses the literacy proficiency of students through
progress monitoring.
Analyzes data to drive effective instruction.
Participates in decision making about student grouping and
movement across tiers.
Completes pupil progress reports and discusses program with parents.
Promotes students’ interest in independent reading.
Inventories Language Arts materials in assigned building(s).
Works cooperatively with the Title I, Special Education,
Literacy Coach and Administrators.
Attends monthly Literacy Meetings with ELA Supervisor.
Is responsible for instructional and other general duties as indicated by the building Principal, ELA Supervisor, and
the Superintendent of Schools and/or her/his designees, and policies of the Haverhill School
Committee.
Qualifications:
- Certified as a Teacher of Reading by the Massachusetts Department of Education, SEI Endorsement Required.
- Ed. in Reading, preferred.
- Demonstrated classroom teaching experience.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent of Schools may find appropriate and acceptable.
- Knowledge of Massachusetts ELA/Literacy Framework.
- Must have skills, knowledge, and dispositions to effectively and collaboratively work with teachers to improve general classroom literacy instruction.
