Salary: $41,820 to $47,272
Organizational Relationship
or Line of Authority: Directly responsible to the Building Principal and/or his or her designee.
Statement of Duties:
- Assists in the administration of the fiscal affairs of the high school main office effectively, expeditiously and to the ultimate benefit of each individual student enrolled.
- Assists and is backup to the Executive Secretary with accounts payable, grants, payroll, filing, reporting and other financial duties carried out by them, as appropriate.
- Verifies invoices for goods and services against purchase orders and returns invoices to the vendor if there is not an approved purchase order number
- Originates, prepares and processes requisitions and purchase orders, as advisable.
- Provides administrative support in order to ensure effective and efficient business office operations by maintaining a filing system for all financial documents and ensuring the confidentiality and security of all financial files.
- Assists in the daily general operations of the main office including but not limited to: Answer main office telephones and intercom, sort interoffice mail and distribute, helping staff, students, and community members at the main office counter as needed.
- Assists in preparation of senior year activities and graduation exercises.
- Displays ethical and professional behavior in communicating and working with staff, students and community members.
- Exercises considerable discretion in the protection and release of confidential information and in the interpretation and administration of policies and procedures.
- Displays strong, positive communication and interaction skills when dealing with co-workers, students, administrators, parents/guardians, visitors and/or the community.
- Must attend work regularly and is punctual reporting to work and returning from scheduled breaks.
- Assumes responsibilities for any other duties as indicated by the building principal or his/her designee, the Superintendent of Schools or his/her designee, and policies of the Haverhill School Committee.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma required.
- Bilingual (English and Spanish) Preferred
- Demonstrated excellent oral, written, and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated computer proficiency. (Work, Power Point, Excel, Google Docs)
- Experience with BudgetSense and School Brains Preferred.
- Must be able to daily plan, prioritize, organize, and accomplish work.
- Strong interpersonal skills, problem-solving abilities, and confidentiality.
- Ability to work independently within a fast-paced environment and adhere to mandated deadlines.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Principal and the Superintendent of Schools may find appropriate and acceptable.
