Salary:                                               In accordance with the Teachers’ Salary Scale according to education and experience. ($61,091 - $102,987)

Organizational Relationship

or Line of Authority:                        Works under the supervision of the Executive Director of Student Services.

Statement of Duties:                        

• Performs psychological assessments and presents in an oral and written format.

• Screens referrals in conjunction with other designated school

personnel

• Participates in the pre-referral process as needed.

• Consults on a regular basis with classroom teachers regarding special needs students.

• Assists with crisis intervention.

• Performs other duties assigned by the District Principal or the Special Education Administrator, directives of the Superintendent of Schools or his/her designee, and policies of the Haverhill School Committee.

Qualifications:                                 

• Licensed in Massachusetts as a School Psychologist.

• Licensed by the Department of Elementary and Secondary

Education as a School Psychologist – Required.

• Ed. in counseling or school psychology.

• Knowledge of integration and inclusive models of instruction.

• Knowledge of curriculum modifications, behavior management strategies, and learning styles.

• Bilingual Preferred.

• Ability to perform and interpret psychological evaluations.

• Ability to provide individual and small group therapy to the school-age students.

• Ability to work closely and harmoniously with parents, teachers, and administrators.

• Knowledge of special education programs and

regulations.

• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent of Schools may find appropriate.
