Job purpose
Our taproom is the heart and soul of Havoc Brewing Company. We have high expectations for our staff because we aim to give our guests an iconic experience in craft beer.
We’re hiring servers who are as passionate about craft beer and creating community as we are.
As a taproom server, you’re a frontline ambassador for our brand. We’ll rely on you to ensure an exceptional experience for everyone who visits Havoc Brewing Company.
Working conditions
This position requires working under a range of circumstances, including:
- a fast-paced environment
- late evenings (we close at 10pm)
- shift and weekend work
- working in proximity to an operating brewery (noise, heavy equipment, odors related to the brewing process).
Duties and responsibilities
Taproom server responsibilities include:
- Ensuring federal and state liquor laws as well as Havoc’s policies are followed.
- Greeting and providing guidance to our customers.
- Handling cash and processing transactions through our point-of-sale system.
- Keeping inventory stocked.
- Maintaining the cleanliness of the taproom and glassware.
- Proper pouring technique in glasses and growlers.
- Providing excellent customer service, ensuring our customers have the best possible experience.
Qualifications:
- A love for craft beer, a working knowledge of the industry, or a strong desire to learn (Cicerone Certified Beer Server will be required after 30 days, Havoc will reimburse).
- Ability to anticipate and proactively address problems in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail, cleanliness, and ability to work with a team.
- Basic math skills are required to use our point-of-sale system and take inventory.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to remain calm in a bustling environment.
- Flexible schedule including availability for working nights and weekends.
- Real experience in the hospitality industry preferred.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- RASP, TIPS or ServSafe® Alcohol Training certification required before start.
Physical Requirements
- Able to reach, bend, stoop, lift 55 lbs, and manage the transport of 165 lb kegs.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
Compensation
- Starting at $5.00/hr plus shared tip pool.
