This position is located in either Malvern, PA (19355) or West Chester, PA (19380)
Role Description:
- The Procurement Manager’s duty is to discover the best ways to cut procurement expenses and strategize to find cost-effective deals and suppliers
Key Responsibilities/Deliverables:
- Devise and use fruitful sourcing strategies
- Discover profitable suppliers and initiate business and organization partnerships
- Negotiate with external vendors to secure advantageous terms
- Approve the ordering of necessary goods and services
- Finalize purchase details of orders and deliveries
- Examine and test existing contracts
- Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness
- Collaborate with key persons to ensure clarity of the specifications and expectations of the company
- Foresee alterations in the comparative negotiating ability of suppliers and clients
- Expect unfavorable events through analysis of data and prepare control strategies
- Perform risk management for supply contracts and agreements
- Control spending and build a culture of long-term saving on procurement costs
- Other duties as deemed necessary
Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required for Success:
- Bachelors Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration or other related field
- Minimum of 5 years in a ERP planning role.
- APICS certification preferred.
- Manufacturing Experience and Lean Manufacturing Preferred
- Proficient in Excel specifically using Vlookup and Pivot Tables
- Experience in PLEX ERP System preferred
Work Environment/Physical Demands
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in an office setting with occasional work performed in a warehouse/manufacture setting.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel, or operate objects, tools or controls, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to stand, talk and hear.
