The Junior System Administrator is responsible for managing Hawaii Gas IT infrastructure, which includes both physical and virtual servers, as well as the data and applications hosted on them. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ability to manage Endpoint devices and their lifecycle.
- Plans and prioritizes work assignments and projects to meet objectives.
- Ability to develop documentation on processes/controls and understand network topology.
- Performs administration for Windows system, which includes but not limited to Windows 2016/2019 servers and Windows 10/11 systems in a virtualized environment.
- Able to conduct maintenance and troubleshooting of various business technologies.
- Must develop, orchestrate, and maintain a disaster recovery plan and protection plan for critical applications or services.
- Consults with application development teams on infrastructure requirements and offers recommendations for system integration or migration design and action plans.
- Analyzes and offers technical expertise across business functions, understanding how the infrastructure technologies support and align with the business operations.
- Assists and supports various consulting services which include but not limited to installation, configuration, IT administration, troubleshooting on various networking applications.
- Provides assistance and support with network hardware, such as but not limited to routers, switches and related LAN/WAN/Wireless equipment.
- Acts as backup when necessary for Senior System Administrator.
- Ensures the security, integrity, and privacy of Hawaii Gas computer data.
- Complies with all safety rules and cooperates in the fullest in the promotion of safety and safe work habits, to include the reporting of any unsafe conditions or acts. Maintains all EH&S training on a current basis.
- Complies with all applicable corporate and Hawaii Gas policies and procedures.
- Maintains assigned work area and equipment in a clean, orderly and safe manner; performs housekeeping duties as required and/or instructed. Works in a safe and responsible manner.
- Performs all other related duties as instructed by supervisor/manager.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or 4 years of related experience and education.
- 1-3 years of experience in helpdesk or entry level Information Technology role.
- Proficient in Microsoft 365 and Windows-based PCs.
- Experience with Active Directory, file shares, and Microsoft Windows Server.
- 1-2 years of experience in system administration.
- Experience with troubleshooting in a variety of systems, including Virtualization, Microsoft Windows Server, Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft Exchange Server, Microsoft SharePoint Online, Azure/EntraID, SCCM and other Microsoft and industry-standard technologies.
- Experience with managing network infrastructure.
- Experience with Hypervisiors/Virtual Machines, AHV, ESXi OR Hyper-V.
- Experience with Powershell or Python.
- Exposure to cloud technology (Azure/GCP/AWS)
