General Experience Requirement: Two (2) years of work experience which demonstrated the satisfactory performance of duties in one or more of the following areas (or the equivalent) legal research and writing; litigation; review of and drafting of legislation; review of new laws for impact on court requirements; or development of policies and procedures, and legal forms to implement new laws.
License Requirement: For this position, applicants must possess an active license to practice law in all courts of the State of Hawaii. - Provides legal advice and counsel to judicial and administrative officials
- Provides legal information, advice, guidance, direction, case review, research, analysis, education, training and other legal services to the Registrar(s) and program staff
- Reviews cases for sufficiency to legal requirements and conformance to procedural requirements, and provides recommendations and appropriate actions to the Registrar(s) to rectify or provide remedy based on sound legal analysis
- Works collaboratively with the Deputy/Chief Judges, Deputy/Chief Court Administrators, and Judiciary Administration and Supreme Court's legal counsel relating to Land Court and Tax Appeals Court proceedings and legislative matters
- Provides testimony and responds to legislative inquiries
- Provides specialized legal services, including but not limited to the review, research, analyses, interpretation, guidance, and providing recommendations to the Deputy/Chief Court Administrator, Deputy/Chief Judge, and other First Circuit officials on a variety of administrative, legal, investigative, and legislative matters
