Recruitment Number 24-221TY, Court Support Services Coordinator, SR-20, Kauai.The position is primarily responsible for planning, coordinating and scheduling court interpreter services for Fifth Circuit's Court Operations Division and Client Services Divisions; obtaining coverage for the District and District/Family Court Judges by coordinating the scheduling and assignments of the Per Diem Judges, including updating and distribution of associated calendars and timesheets; planning and coordinating accommodations for disabilities; ensuring courtroom coverage so as to not delay or hinder court proceedings; and respond to inquiries and provide information about court support services. In addition, this position attends to various administrative housekeeping matters, including but not limited to researching and drafting legislative testimony and other administrative reports.Education Requirement: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. Excess administrative, professional, technical or other work experience which has provided a general background of the type and quality described below may be substituted for a Bachelor’s degree on a year-for-year basis.
Specialized Experience: One and one-half (1-1/2) years of progressively responsible professional, administrative, technical work experience in one or a combination of the following areas:
1) Independently performing professional work involving written analysis, evaluation and recommendations for problem resolution in a court or legal setting, or those social work or administrative programs of the courts. (Examples of this type of professional work include assistant court administrator, court operations specialist, social worker, information technology specialist, program budget analyst, program evaluation analyst, human resources specialist, research statistician, planner, etc. with professional work experience in the court system.)
2) In a court or legal setting, responsibility for supervising or overseeing the operational activities of a unit or section whose primary function is the preparation and/or processing of legal documents. Such experience must have included: (1) planning and directing the work of others; (2) assigning and reviewing their work; (3) advising them on difficult problem areas; (4) timing and scheduling their work; and (5) training and developing new employees. (Examples of a legal setting are: Office of the Prosecutor, Public Defender, Department of the Attorney General, legal department in a financial institution or trust company, private attorney's office.)
