Art Instructor

Hawaii Fluid Art, Henrico is a new art studio and gallery, dedicated to inspiring creativity and providing artists of all ability levels the opportunity to experience new art techniques. We are a vibrant community where art lovers and makers of all ages can connect, learn, and create. Our studio is a welcoming space for hands-on art classes, personalized experiences, and unforgettable events.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, friendly, and service-oriented Art Instructor to join our team! In this part-time role you will teach students of all ages and artistic abilities to create beautiful pieces of art, leading classes and events of up to 30 people. You will also assist customers with their shopping needs in the gallery while delivering exceptional customer service.

We strive to provide an exciting and engaging environment for our customers. You are the party host, helping to provide that amazing experience! The ideal candidate will have experience in customer service, sales, or instruction. We will provide all art technique training.

Responsibilities

• Engage each customer with a friendly greeting and provide assistance while they are shopping.
• Teach fluid art and resin art classes to individuals and groups of students.
• Work at a point-of-sale terminal to ring up and carry out customer sales.
• Stock and process inventory.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming studio.
• Drive sales by participating in targeted product promotions and initiatives set forth by the company.
• Assist with marketing efforts and social media content creation
• Continuously develop solid product knowledge in order to guide customers with their selections.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Must be 18 or older
• Friendly, positive, and outgoing personality with exceptional interpersonal skills
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
• Understanding of sales techniques and best practices in customer service
• Ability to quickly and accurately work a point-of-sale system
• Willingness to work well in a team environment
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule - weekends are a must
