PURPOSE STATEMENT:
Works independently under the general supervision of the Shift Supervisor and the Process Control Operator from written/verbal orders following specific policies/procedures/methods; operating gas processing/making equipment other than fired equipment, and assists the Process Control Operator in his job duties.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Operates gas making/processing equipment, LNG systems and start-up, observes, monitors, tends to, shuts off/down, isolates, and implements LO/TO too all such equipment external to control room.
- Performs routine and/or emergency maintenance on controls as required/directed and qualified.
- Adjusts process equipment automatically or manually when required to the prescribed pressures, temperature or flow as directed by the Process Control Operator or Shift Supervisor according to his own operating orders/initiative, makes limited adjustments and minor repairs to equipment.
- Assists Process Control Operator in the control room by trouble-shooting gas making/LNG injection processing problems when required/directed.
- Takes samples from various plant streams to determine specific gravity and/or performs simple gas analysis as directed/required.
- Writes preventative maintenance actions taken in logs/reports/PC terminals according to direction/questions in software and implements all preventative maintenance actions according to such schedule.
- Maintains the work area, equipment and all control devices in a clean, orderly condition and/or directs lesser grades to perform housekeeping duties and may perform same in the control room.
- Directs/Supervises all personnel in job sites/work areas/project areas to assure proper safety signs/warning devices and LO/TO are working correctly and/or in place according to safety rules/standards and all personnel use/wear prescribed safety/clothing as required/directed.
- Instructs trainees assigned to unit and inspects their in-progress/completed work.
- Properly operates all process equipment assigned to his/her area so that gas production specifications are met.
- Drives assigned vehicles as directed and qualified.
- Performs related work as directed/required.
- Must qualify/recertify 49CFR192 Qualification program.

Required Education and/or Work Experience:

High school graduate or GED, with satisfactory completion of course work in physics and chemistry.
- At least five years of progressive and successful experience in various phases of the work involved in the operation of compressors, pumps, heat exchangers, absorption columns, automatic-control valves, boilers and their related auxiliary equipment; or based on management's assessment, the sucessful completion of in-plant training/qualification program.
- Must be trained and qualified as a Fired Equipment Operator with proven competence.
- Qualified and proficient in all phases of the work described including a good working knowledge and understanding of the equipment described; proven expertise to effectively maintain and/or repair non-complex equipment problems.
- Possesses a very good knowledge of all pertinent codes, regulations, standards, practices and safety rules/regulations/practices in addition to departmenal operating rules and procedures.
Preferred Education and/or Work Experience:
- Technical schooling an electrical and/or mechanical operation or trade preferred.
Required Licensure, Certification, Registration or Designation:
- Must qualify/recertify 49CFR192 Qualification program.
- Qualified in CPR/QED and First Aid.
- Qualified in operation of scissors lift.
