Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Japanese or related fieldÂ
- Available to teach in person one or two sections of Japanese scheduled during weekdays
- Experience teaching Japanese
- Experience teaching university students in a diverse environment
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Â Visa sponsorship and relocation allowance is not available for this position. Â [as applicable]
- Must meet training and background check qualifications and comply with the Protection of Minors policy.
- Able to teach classes scheduled during days, evenings, and weekends. Â [faculty only]
- Able to teach classes at multiple locations on Oahu. Â [faculty only]
- Successful candidate will be able to work in an environment that utilize excellent time and stress management skills.

- Â Teaching (95%)
- Follow a syllabus of course activities, using established university requirements, appropriate student learning outcomes, and grading methods throughout the semester.
- Plan and deliver individual classes that conform to the syllabus and other requirements of the University.
- Maintain records on student participation and performance, evaluate student performance on the basis of established student learning outcomes, and assign grades.
- Hold office hours and respond to student questions.
- Submit required documents (including student grades) in a timely manner.
- Meet deadlines and follow direction of the program/department chair
- Â Performs other related duties as assigned (5%)
- Actively participates as an effective member of team by completing assigned duties, accepting additional assignments or reassignments.Â
