Job Summary: The incumbent serves, primarily, as the regional representative for the Office of Admissions, while based in the southern California area. As the Assistant Director of Admissions, you will serve prospective undergraduate students and their families in the college search process with a goal to recruit quality candidates to HPU. Territory management, recruitment planning, event coordination and facilitation, and application reading are some of the primary responsibilities in this role. Additionally, the Assistant Director serves and engages with campus partners and leadership, faculty, coaches, high school counselors, parents, and others to support student access and enrollment to HPU. This role serves to execute strategic recruitment initiatives to meet enrollment goals. As a primary point of contact for your assigned territory, strong presentation and relationship-building and maintenance skills are critical for success in this role. This is a regional position, and the Assistant Director is expected to work with a high level of independence, initiative, and autonomy. PLEASE NOTE: extensive travel, including evenings and weekends, and a personal vehicle are required. Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications: •Bachelor’s degree •Two years of work experience that includes a focus on customer service, recruitment, marketing, communication, education, or other related fields •Demonstrated strong presentation and communication skills •High efficiency in learning new technology, systems, and processes Desired Qualifications: •Master’s degree •Desire to work amongst and contribute to an office culture of collaboration and support •Experience with Ellucian Banner and Salesforce TargetX CRM •Ability to work with different individuals and groups with diverse cultures and backgrounds •Experience in higher education Other Qualifications: •Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Visa sponsorship and relocation allowance is not available for this position. •Report to work obligations to support the department and may require work during HPU’s winter break, if necessary. •Must meet training and background check qualifications and comply with the Protection of Minors policy.•Upon hire, candidate must have reliable personal transportation to facilitate travel between to all HPU worksites and other locations as required by the position. This includes a valid driver’s license and a personal vehicle that is legally registered and insured. •This position may also require driving responsibility for an HPU vehicle. Due to driving responsibilities, you must meet training and background check qualifications and comply with HPU’s Vehicle Driving policy. •Able to work all shifts and extended hours. •Successful candidate will be able to work in an environment that utilize excellent time and stress management skills.Key Responsibilities/Essential Job Functions: Territory Management: (35%) •Serve as a primary resource for prospective students and families to support the recruitment, application process, and enrollment to the University •Effectively communicate the value of an HPU education through conversation, presentation, at college fairs, and in written communication •Responsible for providing initial financial aid and scholarship guidance •Support students to complete their applications by submitting materials and required documents within the assigned territory, being mindful of key dates and deadlines •Read student applications and make recommendations for admission as part of the admissions decision process •Oversee the management of assigned territory market to establish benchmarks to reach overall recruitment goals •Utilize technology and social media resources to effectively market and communicate to audiences Recruitment & Travel: (30%) •Plan, organize and attend various recruitment and yield events for the University that occur in the day, evening, and on weekends •Identify, register, and attend high school and college visits, college and transfer fairs, and other recruitment opportunities within the assigned territory •Responsibly manage a budget for the assigned territory, including purchasing travel expenses and submitting timely expense reports •Assist other regional admission staff as needed with recruitment events/programs •Frequent travel to in-state and out-of-state meetings and events, requiring a valid driver’s license, insurance, and personal vehicle Relationship Development: (25%) •Counsel prospective students and families about admissions, financial aid, academic programs and student life at the University •Maintain professional affiliations including local, regional, and national affiliates as it correlates with the scope of your enrollment goals •Regular, timely, and strategic communication with all contacts •Develop and grow partnerships with community college advisors and other community college campus partners •Liaise with HPU campus partners to provide and receive timely program, curriculum, and initiative updates •Communicate and coordinate with college counselors and advisors to nurture relationships and establish rapport Other: (5%) •Develop and recommend the formulation of departmental goals and objectives to ensure teamwork, productivity and professional growth and development in the department •Participates in the operational planning process to help identify means of improvement in admissions policies, procedures, and data systems Performs other related duties as assigned (5%) •Actively participates as an effective member of team by completing assigned duties, accepting additional assignments or reassignments.
