Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Preschool or Kindergarten Teacher to join our team for a private group of ESL students, ages 3 - 5, from Japan.
SCHEDULE: Tuesday, July 22 - Saturday, July 26 (Tentatively 8:45AM - 3:00PM) plus an orientation day some time during the week of July 14th.
This group will participate in a five-day program, with each day comprising both a classroom lesson and a scheduled field trip or outdoor activity. All excursions and activities are pre-arranged, and educators are encouraged to thoughtfully integrate the daily theme into their classroom instruction. Maximum 7 students per 1 teacher and 1 teacher assistant.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education and a commitment to fostering a nurturing and stimulating environment for young ESL learners. This role involves creating engaging lessons, managing classroom activities, providing individualized support to students, and supervising students on daily field trips and outdoor activities.
Responsibilities
- Implement age-appropriate lessons that promote learning and development in various domains, including cognitive, social, emotional, and physical.
- Manage classroom activities effectively to create a positive learning environment that encourages exploration and creativity.
- Provide care for toddlers, ensuring their safety and well-being while promoting healthy habits.
- Introduce physical education activities that enhance motor skills and promote physical fitness among preschoolers.
- Collaborate with other educators and staff to create a cohesive educational experience for all students.
- Maintain an organized classroom environment that is conducive to learning.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education or a related field is preferred.
- Experience working with young children in a preschool or kindergarten setting is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles and practices, including classroom management techniques.
- Experience in teaching physical education or implementing physical activity programs for young children is a plus.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with children, parents, and colleagues.
- A compassionate approach to teaching that emphasizes patience, creativity, and enthusiasm for working with young ESL learners.
- Certification in First Aid/CPR is preferred but not required.
