Part-Time Paid Internship
Compensation: approximately $2,000 per Month Stipend
Supervised By: HSJGA Tournament Manager - Allison Wallace
AVAILABLE POSITIONS: Up to an eight-month tournament operations internship depending on availability
START DATE: April 2025
ABOUT THE HSJGA: The Hawaii State Junior Golf Association (HSJGA) and First Tee-Hawaii is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization that introduces the game of golf and its competitive traditions to the youth of Hawaii.
The HSJGA develops life skills through fun, affordable, and competitive programs that educate,
motivate and inspire.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The USGA P.J. Boatwright Jr. internship position provides administrative support to the Director of Tournament Operations, Director of Golf Operations, Director of Development, and Executive Director.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Tournament administration which includes, course marking, course set-up, starting, scoring, on course-officiating, and pre and post-tournament administration.
- Assist with tournament department communications and marketing.
- Responsible for volunteer management.
- Answer incoming phone calls and emails regarding events
- Responsible for updating GHIN's and Golf Genius's accounts
- Assist with in-house administrative duties for day-to-day operations as needed.
- Able to communicate effectively via written, verbal, and/or electronic means in a professional manner
- Assist with First Tee-Hawaii Operations and coaching if needed
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be in or near Honolulu, HI area during internship
- Strong communication skills
- College degree or currently enrolled
- Golf background or strong interest in the game of golf
- Knowledgeable of the Rules Of Golf
- Willingness to travel and work long hours including early mornings, late nights, and weekends
- Computer literate using Google Workspace and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.), email, files, and folder management
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong organizational skills, ability to pay attention to detail, and possess interpersonal skills.
- Experience working with volunteer management.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Position requires extended periods of standing, sitting, moving, crouching, and being able to lift up to 50 lbs for moving equipment
- May require extended periods of being outdoors in different weather-related climates
- CPR/AED and First Aid trained and current
