Hawaii Technology Academy, a public charter school, seeks candidates for the position of Education Assistant for the 2025-26 school year. This position is located at HTA's Kihei Campus on Maui.
Candidates must have:
- a minimum of a high school diploma and experience working with students ages 5-17
- excellent interpersonal skills
- the ability to support students as they complete high school level coursework
- a bachelor’s degree and previous experience working in a school environment is preferred but not required
Priority will be given to candidates with experience working with students of high school age and who have competencies in helping students with upper level math and science coursework.
Duties of the Education Assistant include but are not limited to:
- assisting the professional educator by performing a variety of non-instructional and supportive tasks
- participating in professional development and training activities related to instructional and counseling tasks
- under the direction of a special education teacher, helping special needs students with academic and/or behavioral/emotional difficulties
- assisting with classroom management in resource and inclusion settings
- assisting with record keeping (i.e., data tracking, offering input relevant to IEPs, etc.)
This is a full-time HGEA BU3 10-month position with benefits. The salary range is $30,670.00 - $42,000 per year, depending on experience.
