Position Summary
Reporting to the Sr Director or Sr Manager, this position is responsible for assigned category strategies as determined by the Sr Director or Sr Manager. The Category Manager will establish category plans and strategies to drive continuous optimization through the practice and execution of Category Management in collaboration with key stakeholders and Finance.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop 3-5 year strategic category plans for business operations
- Work directly with business unit leaders to drive execution of category strategies, continuous improvement, and spend optimization
- Work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders and other category managers to drive synergies across multiple categories to optimize total spend, enable supply chain value and savings for the business.
- Work across multiple Hawaiian Airlines business units to enable optimum value and supply chain
- Perform spend analysis by category, supplier, and commodity area, and leverage findings to drive category strategies
- Develop a sufficient understanding of category business users and business models to effectively represent Hawaiian Airlines in the market
- Perform market research of relevant business models, suppliers, products, and services
- Develop, lead, and influence sourcing and category initiatives that drive synergies and maximum supply chain value across multiple categories
- Develop, lead, and guide sourcing and negotiation strategies that enable maximum benefit to HA
- Lead category initiatives and contract negotiations for top tier supplier relationships and sourcing initiatives and as directed by the Sr Manager
- Influence and support continuous improvement of HA Sourcing & Procurement standard practices
- Partner with Legal, FP&A, IT, and Project Management to collaborate on decision support and recommendations
- Support stakeholders in managing and maximizing vendor relationships and performance
- Approve requisitions at defined approval thresholds
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree; or an equivalent combination of education and related working experience
- A total of at least three (3) years of experience with any following: sourcing, contract negotiations, vendor management, supply chain management, and/or supplier risk management
- Leading RFx processes and sourcing strategy development and execution
- Performing complex bid analysis and supplier evaluation models
- Managing multiple sourcing events concurrently without supervision
- Collaborating and assisting stakeholders with developing business, technical, and vendor performance requirements
- Maintaining high ethical standards and confidentiality to drive objective and unbiased vendor selections
- Solving business problems and or developing improvement opportunities through new or existing vendor relationships
- Developing business stakeholder and vendor relationships

Please note that the provided salary information serves as a general guideline. Our salary is determined by a candidate's experience and qualifications as well as market and business considerations. The expected pay range is $104,000 to $128,000.

- Prior Aviation or Airlines experience
- Understanding of the “Aloha Spirit” and the basic elements of Hawaii’s unique culture
- Prior Supply Chain Management, Strategic Sourcing, Source-to-Pay experience
- MBA
