Position Summary
The Senior Engineer Fleet Reliability is responsible for the analysis and interpretation of aircraft operational data to identify and report on reliability trends, technical issues, their root causes, and impact of potential solutions.

Position Summary
The Senior Engineer Fleet Reliability is responsible for the analysis and interpretation of aircraft operational data to identify and report on reliability trends, technical issues, their root causes, and impact of potential solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Produces Reliability Program deliverables compliant with FAA requirements
- Performs data collection, data cleaning, data validation, and reporting tasks for analytical systems and applications and interprets data from various sources (e.g. Trax, Skywise, ACMS, ACARS, FOMAX, AHM) to review, monitor, and evaluate systems, structures, and component performance
- Proactively identifies operationally sensitive issues in the fleet with operational, commercial, or financial impact, performs thorough analysis of emerging fleet technical issues / in-service reliability impact events
- Creates, investigates, and follows up on reliability alert levels
- Generates and provides reports and data on a regular basis to stakeholder groups on aircraft performance reliability trends and statistics efficiently, accurately, and in a timely manner to:
- Support MRRB (Maintenance Reliability Review Board) and IRG (Initial Review Group) agenda and meetings with reporting and presentation content
- Support RCMP (Reliability Centered Maintenance Program), escalation/de-escalation of any tasks associated with HAL’s Maintenance Programs.
- Support warranty claims for components that do not meet reliability or on-wing performance guarantees
- Support Engineering with data analysis to support problem resolution
- Support Fleet Management with fault resolution efforts
- Provides technical assistance to line, base, and check maintenance team, on and off-hour, as needed, as it pertains to reliability issues.
- Collaborates with Fleet Managers, Engineers, other stakeholders within TechOps as well as vendors, OEMs and MROs, on improvements to operational reliability and cost for aircraft systems or components
- Suggests and implements reliability methods and data needs to meet stakeholder demands and support good decision making to improve the operation.
- Stays current with industry best practices and regulatory guidance related to effective reliability programs and proactively proposes and implements adjustments
- Maintains and improves existing models and processes, develops and implements advanced analytical models and processes to support decision making to drive operational reliability
- Explores new data sources, storage, and distribution methods.
- Performs data analysis to identify patterns and trends in mechanical reliability and failure life estimations.
- Leads analysis and validation of statistical, forecasting, and optimization models for prognostic, predictive maintenance
- Designs and develops advanced data mining, forecasting, estimation, simulation, and/or optimization models
- Professional development and other related duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Statistics, Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Applied Mathematics, Decision Science, Computer Science, Computational Economics, or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and related working experience
- 5 years of experience applying analytics to support business decisions
- Strong Analytical skills and the ability to understand complex business requirements and define key performance metrics to measure benefits and communicate complex quantitative analysis in a clear, precise, and actionable manner
- Demonstrated familiarity with the airline, transportation, or related industry.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, ability to communicate well in both oral and written reports
- Strong PC skills including MS Office (Access, PowerPoint, Excel) Office
- Good organizational and prioritization skills and a demonstrated ability of acting as an effective change agent
- Ability to handle multiple tasks with a high degree of attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree
- Extensive Reliability Program, Maintenance Programs, Engineering, or CASS experience preferred.
- Familiarity with Federal Aviation Regulations
- Proficiency in programming with knowledge of multiple programming languages (VBA, SQL, Python, R, SAS, or similar)
- Proficiency in extracting and cleansing large datasets from different data sources, data mining, statistical analysis, trending, and report generation
- Knowledgeable in ATA specification 100 technical data classifications.
- Knowledge of TRAX, Boeing AHM, PCView, Airbus Airman and Skywise
- Familiarity with engineering processes and procedures related to resolution of design and reliability improvements to aircraft systems and maintenance programs and procedures.
- Familiarity with Maintenance Technical Documents for example: Airworthiness Directives and Service Bulletins, Aircraft Maintenance Programs and Reliability concepts, etc.
