Position Summary
Responsible for managing relationships with Technical Operations vendors and negotiating contractual and warranty topics with both vendors and lessors.
Specialists are responsible for vendor performance across Technical Operations and will act as the program manager for a portfolio of power-by-the-hour (PBH) and other contracts.
This position has an estimated duration of 10 - 12 months. Note that no relocation assistance is available for this position.

Key Responsibilities
- As the primary day-to-day contact with PBH vendors, ensure contract adherence, facilitate meetings between Hawaiian Airlines and vendors, manage action items and drive action items to closure
- In collaboration with internal stakeholders such as Sourcing & Procurement, Legal, FP&A, etc., review vendor contracts, identify areas of concern, analyze commercial terms of contract, and develop and execute a negotiation strategy to meet internal goals
- Identify and investigate vendor issues, negotiate resolutions, and recommend alternatives that act in the best interest of the Company; work across the Hawaiian Airlines Technical Operations Department, mostly with Maintenance & Engineering and Supply Chain Management to ensure that supplier partnerships are effectively integrated and meeting performance expectations
- Produce and send to vendors and lessors monthly utilization reports, validate, approve, and process invoices (and claims) related to PBH contracts and maintenance reserves
- Contribute to the development of tools and processes which make our team and vendors more efficient (and effective); maintain effective databases to track vendor performance and capture remedies, analyze key performance metrics to root cause performance issues and drive change
- Perform spend analysis and leverage findings to aid strategic decisions
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors and lessors to meet corporate objectives and improve performance
- Participate in new fleet introduction process to help ensure the “whole aircraft is covered” for spare parts initial provisioning and on-going maintenance support
- Participate in the definition and implementation of overall maintenance strategy for each fleet
- Proactively identify and pursue cost-saving opportunities with vendors
- Track and manage vendor credits
- Specific fleet type, vendors, and/or ATA chapters as assigned
- Other duties as assigned or directed.
- Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- 2 years of relevant experience OR relevant accredited graduate education with appropriate intern experience

Preferred Qualifications
- MBA or Master’s degree in related field
- Must demonstrate proficiency/willingness to act in a hands-on role; gathering relevant information, advancing issues to resolution, summarizing program status
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, and PowerPoint
- Experience in performance management
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with experience drafting presentations for an executive-level audience
- Ability to work independently ensuring key deliverables are met
- Proficient in financial analysis, statistical analysis, and cost control, with an understanding of discounted cash flow analysis, forecasting techniques and variance analysis
- Strong interpersonal attributes to maintain collaborative team environment
- Familiarity with aircraft maintenance repair and overhaul operations / planning
- Experience with TRAX
