With almost 50 years providing the community with the very best in eye care service, Hawaiian Eye Center is looking for an optometrist to join our Ohana.
3 Locations: Wahiawa, Waipahu and/or Ala Moana
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Licensed optometrist in the state.
- Graduate of accredited optometry program.
- Two year’s experience in an ophthalmology setting preferred but not required.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Provider of quality patient eye care.
- Demonstrated ability to work with patients of all ages.
- Strong organization with attention to detail.
- Demonstrated computer literacy.
- Ability to scribe on their own.
- Ability to meet patient volume requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Optometric Examinations
- Co-management of the medical/surgical patient according to state law and the by-laws of the practice.
- Emergency patient examinations.
- S/P laser evaluations.
- Provides contact lens examinations and fittings.
- Oversees contact lens inventory (i.e., trial lenses, retail stock, supplies and solutions).
- Provides guidelines regarding contact lens instruction (for insertion and removal) to be performed by appointed clinical staff.
ADMINISTRATIVE:
- Advises practice administrator of schedule changes three months in advance of conflict.
- Documents all patient encounters in the medical record with appropriate co-signature in accordance with state law when necessary.
- Bills for services provided in accordance with state law.
- Schedules and performs eye health screenings in the community in cooperation with the practice manager.
Job Types: Part-time, Contract
Pay: $55.00 - $65.00 per hour
Expected hours: 8 – 16 per week
