Job Title: Covenants Specialist
Department: Covenants & Design Review
Reports to: Department Director
Job Summary:
The Covenants Department addresses compliance with the DCCR’s and Design
Guidelines for the various community Associations managed per their addendum to
their contract. Covenants Specialists perform inspections and work with homeowners
to correct inconsistencies with the community standards.
Status: Full Time – Non-exempt
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform residential exterior inspections to confirm compliance and address
areas of concern
Document inspections by taking pictures and entering data
Work directly with homeowners to resolve covenants violations
Handle phone inquiries and follow up on voice, email and written questions or
concerns
Assist homeowners to include processing of pre-authorized design applications
Develop an in-depth familiarity with the association’s covenants, the Design
Committee Rules, and any additional association documents relevant to Design
Committee processes and covenants enforcement
Provide support to the Management Executives, Department Director, Board of
Directors, Design Committee representatives and other Covenants team
members in all matters concerning covenants enforcement
Collaborate with team members on shared projects
Contribute content relevant to covenant enforcement for inclusion in the
updates to the HMC website
Other duties as assigned
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Clear and tactful verbal and written communication skills
Good driving skills
Is computer literate with a working knowledge of MS Office and the ability to
learn how to navigate and work with specialized software used by HMC
Exemplary organizational skills
Able to positively interact with the general public, homeowners, contractors, and
co-workers
Able to self- manage
Able to sit and/or stand and/or work on a computer for long periods of time
Able to frequently walk, climb, bend, kneel, stoop, reach and lift, exhibit manual
dexterity and able to handle objects.
Able to talk and hear via the telephone, and through face to face communication
Able to occasionally push, pull or balance
Able to problem solve
Able to read, analyze, and interpret general business documents, contracts,
technical procedures or government regulations
Able to create reports, business correspondence, and written procedures
Able to effectively present information and respond to questions
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months
related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and
experience.
Desired Qualifications:
Associate's degree or higher
1 year of customer service experience
Experience working in a community association or similar environment
Knowledge of Home Owner Associations (HOA’s)
Able to read and comprehend architectural blueprints
Pay Scale:
Starting from $20.00 to $23.00 an hour depending on experience.
Must pass a criminal background check and drug test and be able to successfully pass
random drug tests throughout the term of employment.
Must have a current Driver’s License and a clean driving abstract going back 3 years.
