Behavior Analyst - Maui District Administration
The Hawaii State Department of Education is seeking a qualified Behavior Analyst to join our team in the Maui District Administration. This role will play a critical part in ensuring that students receive the best possible support and services.
About the Role
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Behavior Analyst to provide ABA services to students with emotional behavioral or mental health concerns. The successful candidate will have a master's degree in behavior analysis, education, or psychology, and at least three years of progressively responsible experience teaching, counseling, or providing therapy to individuals with disabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Develops and maintains resource materials to support student learning and behavior.
- Determines compliance with behavior analysis standards and ensures that all programs and services meet these standards.
- Consults with teachers and other school personnel to develop and implement effective interventions and strategies to address student behavior.
- Provides ABA services, including conducting Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and developing Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs).
- Collaborates with other professionals and related service providers to administer developmental and functional skills assessments and develop program plans.
- Designs and implements behavioral data collection systems to monitor student progress and make evidence-based instructional decisions.
- Observes, measures, and documents intervention progress and provides training and feedback to staff and students using evidence-based methods such as Behavioral Skills Training (BST).
- Facilitates understanding of behavior principles among school personnel, parents, and other stakeholders.
- Provides clinical supervision to qualified ABA paraprofessionals and completes performance evaluations.
Requirements
- Mastery's degree from an accredited college or university in behavior analysis, education, or psychology.
- At least three years of progressively responsible experience teaching, counseling, or providing therapy to individuals with disabilities.
- Valid State of Hawaii license in Behavior Analysis issued by the Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs.
- Aptitude or potential for supervisory duties.
