WHAT IS THE JOB ABOUT?
The core focus of the NBA Operations Lead - Officiating will be supporting the overall delivery of officiating events and decisions that occur within the Replay Center as well all other replay services to the NBA and their downstream and related partners.
The NBA Operations Lead - Officiating at Hawk-Eye Innovations will support the day-to-day delivery of replay operations and the external communication of the basketball team’s systems, providing execution of leadership’s vision of performance metrics and objectives. This role will provide the hands-on execution of daily operational project needs with the primary focus being on all officiating / replay efforts, including but not limited to: training, trouble-shooting (software / hardware), collecting reporting metrics, improving documentation and processes to elevate existing operational effectiveness. The Operations Lead will be expected to prioritize day-to-day operational excellence, both administratively and technically.

RESPONSIBILITIES >
Daily
- Accountable for the live officiating events and decisions from our NBA replay systems, reviewing items from the day before and day-of game
- Accountable for the live replay delivery from our WNBA replay systems, reviewing items from the day before and day-of game
- Accountable for low to medium escalation issues across all NBA replay deliveries
- Push forward daily hardware investigations and resolutions alongside hardware qa lead
- Lead a group of event data analysts who will be responsible for daily investigations in relation to officiating events and decisions. Ensure that processes and workflows are being followed as expected.
- Lead a group of technicians operating out of the Replay Center in Secaucus. Ensure that all processes and workflows are being followed and the level of professionalism expected in front our external clients is being upheld
- Lead a group of replay technicians who are responsible for the game to game replay operations for WNBA events. Ensure that processes and workflows are being followed, as expected.
- Coordinate software roll-outs alongside Technical Operations team and address data investigation tasks
- Act as escalation for pre-game checks of the systems in accordance with standard procedures and solve problems in a timely manner when issues arise
- Accountable for ensuring follow-through of established operational processes / workflows
- Identify potential issues and work to find solutions to maximize operational efficiency
- Assist with leading training sessions across all specific roles and responsibilities
- Create and improve documentation across all replay deliverables and as indicated by both need and direction
- Create and improve regular and semi-regular reporting to leadership and clients, as directed
- Escalation shifts outside of standard work hours
- Perform as-needed work in the vein above (Daily / As-needed) for the G League, during NBA / GL / WNBA pre-season or pre-season preparation overlap
- 3 years of operational experience in a successful branded company / organization
- In-depth knowledge of basketball and basketball rules
- Strong leadership skills
- In-depth understanding of sport operations, terminology, and processes
- Experience in hardware quality assurance and data investigation
- Experience in data quality assurance and data investigation
- Ability to prioritize, address high-priority issues and escalate to leadership
- Strong problem solving skills and attention to detail
- Previous experience in a similar role within operations or a sports technology
- Proficient in project management software such as ClickUp
- Proficient in using presentation tools such as Google Slides and Google Sheets
- This position will require schedule flexibility, including weekends, late nights, and holidays
- Willingness to travel occasionally for on-site support and installs
