Job Overview
The position of Manager - Maintenance entails leading the Plant Maintenance team. This role involves expertise in preventive and predictive maintenance programs, equipment reliability, and safety, ensuring operational efficiency and minimizing downtime. The facility includes state-of-the-art equipment such as turbines, compressors, centrifuges, high-pressure steam networks, and DCS systems supplied by leading manufacturers worldwide.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of maintenance technicians, ensuring high performance and continuous skill development.
- Develop and execute maintenance strategies aligned with organizational goals and industry standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, production, and quality assurance, to enhance operational efficiency.
- Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Implement KPIs to measure and improve maintenance performance.
- Ensure equipment availability through preventive, predictive, and reliability-centered maintenance.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to address equipment failures.
- Schedule maintenance activities to minimize production disruptions while maximizing uptime.
- Oversee spare parts inventory management to optimize stock levels and reduce downtime.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities to meet regulatory and internal standards.
- Develop and manage the maintenance budget, identifying cost-saving opportunities.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives like Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM).
- Train apprentices and junior staff to ensure stability in maintenance operations.
- Manage engineering and construction projects for facility upgrades and de-bottlenecking.
- Collaborate with project and construction teams during future expansion phases.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- 15 years of experience in maintenance management, with at least 5 years in a managerial role in petrochemical or chemical plants.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Expertise in modern maintenance practices to ensure reliability, efficiency, and safety.
- Proficiency in maintenance management software and tools.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Comprehensive understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Ability to work in a plant environment with occasional exposure to chemicals, machinery, and varying temperatures.
- Capable of performing physical tasks such as lifting, walking, and standing for extended periods.
- Willingness to be on-call or work outside regular hours as required.
