The Deets:
To act as an Operations Leader responsible for supporting the purpose, mantras, and values of Hawkers Asian Street Food through all that you do in your role every day. The Assistant General Manager will work towards goals and objectives to achieve desired results while focusing on the long-term profitability of the company and developing restaurant staff.
Requirements
- Directly assist General Manager in meeting or exceeding established sales, revenue, and profitability goals, EBITDA (Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation, & Amortization) cash flow movement in a position direction.
- Directly assist General Manager in ensuring the financial integrity of all P&L statements by adhering to systems that properly track expenses and revenues that are categorized, coded, and posted through control processes.
- Oversee the integrity and operational functionality of all POS and security systems and equipment.
- Work directly with vendors to ensure that the restaurant equipment is kept in satisfactory working order, maintaining the highest degree of usability and cleanliness.
- Communicate with leaders, hourly team members, and guests, providing positive feedback and promoting a positive image of the restaurant and good team morale.
- Regularly counsel and coach team members, liaise with Human Resources on investigations, and have the authority to suspend team members pending review of the situation by the General Manager
- Takes quick and responsible action in solving problems and is able to use reason when dealing with disciplinary issues.
- immediately for instances of serious misconduct, as defined in the Employee Handbook.
- Along with the General Manager, evaluate staff using formal evaluations.
- Can lead a shift effectively and develop Operations Managers and MITs to do the same.
- Ensure maintenance of a safe and harassment-free workplace.
- Take quick and responsible action in solving problems and be able to use reason when dealing with disciplinary issues.
- Train, develop, and motivate team members and leaders to meet or exceed established standards.
- Training and following the training guide program and ensuring team members have a passing score to be in position.
- Communicate with leaders, hourly team members, and guests, providing positive feedback and promoting a positive image of the restaurant and good team member morale.
- Assists in preparing weekly work schedules and ensures the schedule is implemented properly.
- Assists in addressing issues resulting from critical violations of health or internal inspections in a timely and professional manner.
- Safeguards the Company assets, including funds, equipment, and the restaurant building, taking appropriate action when necessary.
- Regularly interviews applicants for employment, assisting in making hiring decisions for the restaurant, and regularly coaches and includes other leaders in the process.
- Ensures compliance with federal, local, and state laws; company policies; and procedures.
- Has knowledge of accounting and financial management principles with a focus on budgeting and forecasting revenue goals and objectives.
- Must have or be willing to obtain Food Handlers Certification and understand and follow OSHA and HACCP compliance standards.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to work in a climate-controlled, restaurant environment.
- Ability to read and write in English in order to process paperwork and follow up on any actions necessary.
- Manual dexterity is needed for keyboarding and other repetitive tasks.
- Must be able to frequently stand, walk, bend, squat, and reach above shoulder level.
- Must be able to lift/carry up to 20 lbs.
