As Direct Care Staff at Hawkesworth Point, you will be responsible for providing direct support and supervision to residents with behavioral needs. You will play a critical role in implementing personalized care plans, assisting with daily living activities, and supporting residents in developing social, communication, and life skills. This position requires patience, empathy, and a commitment to fostering a positive and structured environment.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, and On-Call. Various shifts available including awake overnights.
Location: Seffner, FL
Pay: $15 per hour
Duties
- Assist clients with daily living activities (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Provide direct support in personal care homes or group homes, ensuring the comfort and well-being of residents.
- Monitor and document vital signs as needed, reporting any changes in health or behavior to the appropriate personnel.
- Engage clients in meaningful activities that promote social interaction and personal growth.
- Maintain a clean and organized living environment for clients, adhering to hygiene standards.
- Implement individualized care plans tailored to each client’s needs and preferences.
- Provide companionship and emotional support, fostering a positive relationship with clients.
- Assist with transportation needs for community outings or appointments as required.
Requirements
- High School diploma/GED
- Previous experience in home community care or direct support roles is preferred but not mandatory.
- Strong caregiving skills with an understanding of personal care practices in home settings.
- Knowledge of meal preparation techniques that accommodate dietary restrictions or preferences.
- Familiarity with monitoring vital signs and basic first aid practices is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with clients, families, and team members.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in various situations.
- A genuine passion for helping others and a commitment to promoting independence among individuals with disabilities.
- Must pass background checks as required by state regulations.
