What are the responsibilities and job description for the Development Officer position at Hawking STEAM Charter Schools INC.?
The Development Officer is a new, full-time position that will create and execute a philanthropic vision to help advance our mission and grow our resources. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in nonprofit and/or education fundraising, excellent communication skills, and a proven track record of successful grant writing and building relationships with corporate and foundation partners.
Goals for the Role:
1. Secure at least three new sources of funding over 12 months, targeting a
minimum of $300,000 annually.
2. Diversify Hawking's funding base by developing relationships with new funders, including corporate sponsors, institutional donors, and individual philanthropists.
3. Develop and implement a strategic, multi-year fundraising plan in collaboration with the
Executive Director and leadership team.
4. Complete all current reporting obligations. OUR MISSION

Hawking STEAM Charter School’s vision is to ensure that Transitional Kindergarten through
grade 12 students are engaged in discovery, exploration, and problem-solving through rigorous
Project Based Learning activities, aligned to the Common Core State Standards (“CCSS”) and the Next
Generation Science Standards (“NGSS”) that are STEAM-based. We strive to develop our
students’ academic, social, and emotional knowledge so they may engage in public discussions,
presentations and pursue STEAM-focused careers.
