JOB DESCRIPTION:

Construct built-in-place or prefabricated wooden or steel forms used for sidewalks, turn lanes, and other misc. roadway structures according to specifications.

TYPICAL DUTIES:

• Build, set, and strip forms.
• Pour, puddle, and vibrate concrete.
• Tie rebar walls, and cages.
• Assist other craftsmen as needed.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

• Complete understanding of forming systems.
• Ability to identify material used in forming systems.
• Ability to perform simple layouts.
• Ability to operate power tools.
• Knowledge of safety practices and protocols.
• Full set of hand tools:

• Tool bag, hammer, tape measure, pliers, speed square, level, chalk box, and plumb-bob.

•

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Climb and maintain balance on scaffold or walkway
• See well (either naturally or with correction)
• Distinguish colors
• Reach for, handle and grasp wires and hand tools
• Bend, crouch and work in small spaces
• Lift and carry objects weighing up to 100 pounds
• Be comfortable working at various heights

Environment is exclusively outdoors; thus, job often involves all weather extremes. Work requires alert individuals with balance and physical strength. Workers must be able to do lift up to 100 pounds on a frequent basis and up to 50 pounds on a constant basis.
