What are the responsibilities and job description for the Buyer - Indirect Materials position at Hawkins HR Consulting, LLC?
Our client is seeking qualified candidates for the role of Buyer - Indirect Materials at their manufacturing facility in Columbus, OH. This role will primarily work onsite with minimal travel to local or regional suppliers. The typical work week for this position will be Monday - Friday with approximately 40-45 hours per week.
Responsibilities
- Act as the first point of contact for all site-related purchases with a yearly spend of $10-$15 million
- Challenging, enhancing and standardizing existing procurement practices across all business units to ensure conformity of approach, generate economies of scale and deliver better value for the money
- Maintain relationships with existing suppliers and sourcing of new suppliers as required
- Maximizing profit by leading and managing tendering processes for all indirect purchases
- Realizing and delivering cost savings, together with a range of additional benefits including improved supplier performance, improved quality of service and total cost of performance along with risk management
- Invoice resolutions
