Job Overview
We are currently looking for an Inventory Specialist to join our team in Holland, MI.
As an Inventory Specialist you will:
Accurately completes inventory cycle counts as scheduled and adhoc inventory counts as required. Conducts initial root cause analysis and researches data to resolve discrepancies. Understands warehouse strategies and layouts and conducts master data setups; corrects inventory movements and status. Recommends and participates in continuous improvement activities which support lean inventory practices. Adheres to proper inventory and storage procedures. Essential Functions
Verifies material numbers and counts material numbers as scheduled in assigned bin count location(s); performs physical inventory as needed to ensure accuracy of inventory.
Perform counts and recounts, using Radio Frequency (RF) scanner, to ensure instant count results.
Researches discrepancies between physical and system count to establish initial root cause. Conducts further root cause analysis to drive inventory accuracy and minimize future adjustment. Collaborates with Inventory Analyst to identify areas of opportunity and drive improvements.
Applies lean tools and methodology to identify, evaluate, and recommend business process and system improvement opportunities.
Understands warehouse strategies and layouts; conducts warehouse master data setups to ensure system and data integrity.
Corrects inventory movements and status, utilizing system transactions, to ensure inventory accuracy.
Identifies damaged or excess material and coordinates with Inventory Analyst or Planner to dispose of material to maintain lean inventory levels.
Performs other duties within scope as assigned.
Must be able to perform all essential job function with/without accommodation.
Ability to effectively use office automation, communication, software, and tools used in Haworth office environment.
Ideally, You Have Demonstrated the Following
Knowledge and practical application of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system preferred, especially Systems, Applications, Processes (SAP) software application.
Ability to understand and apply Material Resource Planning (MRP) concepts.
Understanding of Just In Time (JIT); Sort, Set, Shine, Standardize, Sustain (5S) and lean philosophy; and knowledge of warehouse management systems.
Understanding of full supply chain integration touch points, from order acceptance to delivery with utilization of transportation management.
Ability to operate material handling equipment, i.e., hi-lo.
Ability to prioritize work activities based on emergent needs of business. Required Qualifications
High School or equivalent
Minimum 1 year of related experience
