We are currently looking for a Senior Internal Auditor to join our team in Holland, MI. This position will be eligible for a flexible work schedule which allows for work from home 1 or 2 days a week.
This role is a project-based role, supporting the Lead Auditors in the International and Haworth Lifestyle Sectors. Additionally, this role is a key contributor to the yearend audit where the Internal Audit team works directly with the EY team under the direct assist model. As an experienced auditor, this role requires knowledge and application of the IIA Standards, including root cause analysis. This may include leading project components, mentoring team members, and taking ownership of certain areas of the audit program.

Education
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or equivalent area of study.
- Education Equivalency:
- Associate's degree in Finance, Accounting, or equivalent area of study plus 2 years related experience or,
- High school diploma plus 4 years related experience.
- 5 years related experience with Bachelor’s degree or,
- 3 years related experience with Master’s degree.
- Equivalent Military experience.
- Related experience is defined as working experience in External Audit, Financial Reporting, Accounting, and/or Fraud.
- Must be able to hold and obtain a valid passport.
- Ability to travel 25 percent of the time, both domestic and international. (Approximately 6-8 weeks per year).
- Ability to work in Holland, MI without relocation assistance.
- Applicants must possess an unrestricted right to work in the US to be eligible for this position.
- Experience working for a global manufacturing company.
- Additional Accounting and Auditing certifications.
- IT audit experience.
- Various ERP systems experience.
- Haworth working experience.
- Performs an assessment of current processes through data and physical inventory counts. Identifies control gaps and tests data and information to assess risk.
- Provides corrective actions/actions plans and other recommendations based on audit findings. Follows up post audit to ensure changes have been implemented.
- At the direction of a Lead Auditor or Management, creates preliminary reports based on findings while completing field work.
- Participates in special projects at the direction of leadership.
- Lead and coordinate the development of annual corporate financial plans and budgets to meet corporate objectives.
- Lead and manage special projects related to accounting and finance, such as system implementations or process improvements.
- Mentor and train Finance members on processes and standard of work.
- Conduct complex financial analysis, develop financial models, and provide recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
- At the direction of department Leadership, conduct work and activities that support established Strategic Financial Initiatives.
- Must be able to perform all essential job function with/without accommodation.
