Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care, assisting the dentist during procedures, and ensuring the smooth operation of the dental office. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology and procedures, as well as proficiency in various dental systems and technologies.
Duties
- Assist dentists during examinations and procedures by providing necessary instruments and materials.
- Prepare patients for treatments by explaining procedures and ensuring their comfort.
- Perform medical imaging, including X-rays, while adhering to safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate patient records and manage appointment schedules using Eaglesoft or similar systems.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene, post-operative care, and preventive dental practices.
- Sterilize instruments and maintain a clean, organized workspace following aseptic techniques.
- Monitor vital signs as needed during procedures to ensure patient safety.
- Support pediatric dentistry efforts by creating a welcoming environment for young patients.
- Collaborate with the dental team to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality patient care.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a dental assistant program is preferred.
- Proficiency in medical coding and understanding of dental terminology.
- Experience with prosthodontics is a plus.
- Familiarity with pediatric dentistry practices is desirable.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well with patients of all ages.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Certification in CPR or BLS is preferred.
- Must be able to pass any required background checks or certifications as mandated by state regulations.
