What are the responsibilities and job description for the DATA SYSTEMS ANALYST position at Hawthorn Bank?
SUMMARY
This position is responsible for providing technical support and parameter configuration to the core banking platform. This position will assist in the oversight of all loan and deposit software programs and data coordination, queries, and data controls. This position has a dotted line report to operations. Work is performed within the framework of standard program guidelines; however, a high level of independent judgment and discretion is required in performing assigned tasks.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Perform data analysis for complex systems.
Responsible for the administration of all bank software systems, including Jack Henry Silverlake maintenance, new branch buildouts, deposit and loan user applications, and product parameters.
Maintain and administer eSign, including user creation, troubleshooting and document maintenance.
Maintain systems, access groups, products, and change logs. Develop and maintain operating controls to ensure changes are authorized and tested.
Work closely with IT and Operations partners.
Test new software features; develop new functions to assist in workflows.
Monitor operations admin and data query ticketing system, including fulfilling requests.
Coordinate between systems and departments to ensure all systems work to the end user benefit.
Work with operations and product design teams to onboard new, and maintain existing, products and conversions.
Coordinate with the training department to ensure information regarding systems and system changes are distributed.
Coordinate with Jack Henry & Associates on cases as necessary.
Support target state data model for managing and reporting data quality concerns in alignment with the desired operating model.
Coordinate implementation of data controls framework in partnership with the end-to-end data governance team.
Design and draft requirements for controls monitoring solutions and coordinate with process teams to define ongoing monitoring processes.
Facilitate the transition of data consumption from existing models to the enhanced data management framework, including defining consumption points, trusted sources, and technology enablers.
Facilitate or contribute to status meetings (recurring and ad-hoc) with required departments by preparing materials and updates, summarizing issues and risks, and defining agreed action items and next steps.
Create project artifacts including, but not limited to business and functional requirements, user acceptance test plans, and operational readiness documents.
Conduct Systems Integrated Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
Contribute to development and maintenance of data lineage, process maps, data concepts and glossaries.
Comply with all banking regulations, policies and procedures.
NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Maintain educational and professional expertise through attendance at job related seminars, conferences, and workshops.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Possess a four-year bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or institution in computer information systems, or closely related coursework, plus additional education and/or training. Professional work experience in relevant areas may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.
Possess a minimum of five (5) years professional work experience in financial services, banking industry, financial data management, or financial data remediation.
Strong SQL knowledge required, including data query, analysis and troubleshooting.
Experience with business process reengineering and business modeling concepts and systems development lifecycle.
Proven record of strong interpersonal skills with evidence of working in collaboration across organizations, including a proactive approach to communicating issues and requests and leading change through creative thinking.
Experience with Jack Henry Core platform experience is a plus.
Experience in data governance programs with knowledge of data governance principles, practical experience of data management and data remediation, operational/technology functions within banking organizations, and project management skills a plus.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
